Brad Crawnin, 31, 8:00p.m., October 21, 2001

Yesterday I got fired from my job that I had taken part in for 10 years. I was a global project manager in the field of I.T., I had traveled across the world implementing software and making friendships with cultural people all over Europe and Asia. Never did I think I would get laid off because the business had been going downhill ever since September 11, 2001. I was shocked when my boss called me in and flat out told me I was getting laid off because they could not afford to have me on the team anymore. I had worked my whole life to get to where I was in the corporation, and now I am unemployed. I was frustrated because of all I had accomplished within the corporation, I started to ask why me? However, I am a very religious human being and believe God had a plan for me to get fired and hopefully in the near future get a better offer by his will. The hardest part getting fired was that I knew that many others were probably getting fired such as me, so the competition to get another job would be fierce. The economy is already horrible, and knowing Bush it will not get better for awhile. May God help all who are currently unemployed.
